wanted to share some images from elana + barry’s manhattan wedding

barry waited for his bride to arrive and when she appeared the best man appeared on the scene to step in an take his place.

elana grew up ice skating at the rink in rockefeller center so what better place for her to get married than the rainbow room.

some grooms kiss the bride. other grooms KISS the bride.

this was one of the last weddings at The Rainbow Room since Cipriani is giving up the space. it really is the end of an era.
the deco detail in the space is so cool.

how many places still have a giant rotating circular dance floor?

So what do you do when you want to get an eyeful of NYC on your wedding day?
First, you get a suite at the Mandarin Oriental so you have a sweet view of Columbus Circle and Central Park South.

Then you bring along your beautiful daughter Kienna (and her rabbit.)

Then you take a subway downtown….

Arrange for a private double decker bus tour for everyone in the wedding.

And then after the ceremony in the Central Park Conservatory Gardens, you arrange for a checker cab to take you to the Rainbow Room for dinner and dancing.

A perfect ending to a perfect day.

We had such a great time working with Michelle and David on their wedding day. They are really madly in love with each other and that joy rubs off on everyone around them.

They held their wedding in The Rainbow Room at Rockefeller Center. Michelle got ready in the Empire Suites in the tower there and just seconds before we were going to walk out the door to capture her and David seeing each other for the first time, the wind picked up. We didn’t want anyone to blow away so we had to scramble for another location. Well, let’s see what we can just do with the lobby. Tourists be damned.

Here’s the shot at the front desk. Excuse me Mr. Security Guard, would you mind stepping to the left for a second…

Michelle’s diva moment.

The ceremony was filled with wonderful moments like this one.

And they rocked the house during the reception.

Then off to Bora Bora were they…. Sweet.

When you begin an engagement session, there really isn’t much of a plan – it’s more like an exploration – looking for places to play and just seeing what comes of it. Since Michelle and David are going to be getting married at The Rainbow Room so they wanted to go to Rockefeller Center for their session. These guys are a lot of fun – I picked out some locations as we went and Michelle just ran with it…
Now I don’t know what Atlas thought, but I don’t believe that David felt that was carrying a burden on his back.

This next shot is actually within the fountain at RC.

Below, using my beloved Tilt-Shift lens we could focus on this moment and still get Prometheus as well.

And one for David…
