The Hampton’s Summer Sessions – update

We’ve been having a wonderful time out here in the Hamptons – not only have we been lucky enough to avoid the 100+ degree days in Manhattan but we’re had the chance to work with some wonderful people out here on more temperate tip of New York.

Our Summer Sessions are really about just capturing those beautiful “Day in the Life” moments -  fleeting tastes of childhood summers …

Summer Sessions in The Hamptons – limited spaces available – reserve your session now!

the only thing that whizzes by faster than your kids’ childhood is your summer in the Hamptons.  preserve them both in one shot with our Hamptons’ Summer Sessions.

we have two options available – the basic one hour portrait session or our really special “Day in the Life” sessions.  For our Day in the Life sessions, we’ll spend an entire day with your family documenting the things you do as you do them.  then we assemble our one of a kind folio albums as the perfect keepsake for your summer memories.

our sessions are available now through July 31.  Give us a call at the studio at 212-227-6772 or email us at info@briandorseystudios.com to reserve your session now before they’re all gone.

wellwed hamptons

we are so pleased to have a few images included in the new spring/summer 2011 issue of wellwed hamptons!

taylor and brett’s wedding images (above) are also featured as one of wellwed magazine’s real weddings online. deservedly so – the wedding was stunning and the images are beautiful! check it out here.

adriana and josh’s images (above) were used in a color story for their “woodland” color palette. one of our favorite event designers, clarie bean, used green and white flora to compliment the organic beauty of bedell cellars.

for more inspiration, ideas and beautiful imagery, you should grab a copy of the magazine – on newstands now!

danielle + christian – wedding at the winery

Wanted to share a wonderful wedding that my associates Matt and Chris shot out on the North Fork at Bedell Cellars.

I love this shot of Danielle’s Mom.  Now THATs a moment!

Bedell Cellars is a beautiful place to have a wedding.  The vineyards offer such a great place for cool portraits.

Danielle and Christian are such a fun couple.

And Bedell has this wonderful back porch – perfect for that summer wedding out on the island.

And of course, who better to do your Hamptons/North Fork flowers than the amazing Claire Bean.  She’s one of our all time faves.   Her work is elegantly simple yet always stunning.  She knows floral colors like no one.

Thanks to Matt and Chris for doing such an outstanding job!

the dock

Wanted to get a couple images up from Lisa and Johns’ wonderful wedding out the bluffs of Montauk point. These shots were from their reception at Harvest on the Pond.

I love being near the water. Not only is it relaxing, it’s always so picturesque.

Isn’t the dock just an awesome place?

One of those perfect locations…

lynda + michael – the hamptons wedding

There’s so much to share from Lynda & Michael’s wedding I almost don’t know where to start…

The wonderful invitations: which are so cool not only because they’re simply beautiful, but also because nowhere do they mention the words wedding or marriage – it’s all about love.

Hamptons Engagement and Wedding

Lynda worked as an Art Director for many years for such prestigious publications as Vogue. And you can tell she brought her AD’s style eye to everything.

Lynda and Michael

Of course, none of that happens without and awesome event planner/florist behind it all. The fabulous Claire Bean did all the work for Lynda’s wedding. Claire is one of the best in the Hamptons. She’s does flowers like nobody else. She shared with us this time how she flys overseas to develop relationships directly with the growers and has her flowers shipped directly to her – so they end up a couple of day’s fresher than if she went through the NY flower markets. The difference shows.

Wolffer Vineyards has this wonderful little gazebo in the middle of their vineyard. How cute is that?

Michael’s son played a song on the guitar and everyone joined in the fun.

But Claire’s flowers were the show stealers.

I mean, if you’re going to have a meal in a vineyard, this is really the way to do it.

We even jumped in for a shot:

That’s Kacy and Matt (our associates), Claire Bean (florist extraordinaire), Celeste (our producer and my better half) and some guy laughing like an idiot.

Is it too late in the season to show pictures wearing linen?

tom petty and the heartbreakers – the private concert

The bad part about walking away from corporate life to pursue photography is that I’ll never be able to afford to have Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers play at a party that I throw. The good part however is that I get to photograph parties that others throw where Tom Petty et al are “the band”. sweet.

The good news is that it’s like he’s playing in your living room.

The bad news is that it takes about 60 people a full week to build this living room on your property just for his hour and a half show and you end up tearing it down the next day.

The good part is that you get to see him this close.

Or is that the bad part?

The good news is that he still rocks and puts on an awesome show

lauren + chris – the wedding day

A foot and a half of water.

That’s what we were driving through to get to Lauren and Chris’ wedding out in the Hamptons. Cars were stalling left and right, swamped by the torrential rains. But it just goes to show you that a bride creates her own sunshine on her wedding day.

And as we were taking pictures just before the ceremony took place, the clouds broke and we got a brief (and very windy) sunset.

This is the new Guestbook Album that we’ve been making for our clients. We take their engagement images and make it into a book that guests can sign at the wedding. It’s been a HUGE hit and almost everyone we’ve shown it to wants one. They look so cool once everyone’s written in them too. What a great way to take home well wishes from your guests.

Chris had a surprise for everyone too. He pulled together a band of his own that played a few numbers to the thrilled crowd. They totally rocked and practically brought the house down with their last number.

Guests were flipping.

But probably the MOST HIIILARIOUS thing was watching some of the groomsmen do Invisible Double Dutch. Who says white men can’t jump.
