After shooting  a 9 hour wedding for us on saturday night at Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Westchester, Ron grabbed 3 hours of sleep and heading off to his next day’s assignment – shoot the New York Giants at the Superbowl for his “other job”, the new york daily news.  Was he phased?  Here’s his Daily News covershot of the New York Giant’s quarterback Eli Manning.

we do love our weddings here at the studio, but the truth is, if you can do them ultra-high end new york city wedding thingies with celebrities and royalty etc.,  etc. you can pretty much shoot anything.

Case in point: our very own Chris is really an amazing music photographer as well as wedding photographer.  As a follow up to his successful photo sessions with the elder statesman of British Pop,  Sir Elton John, Chris was recently asked to shoot the latest British pop sensation, ADELE for some promotions to coincide with her recently released album 21.  Check out the amazing portraits he created of her.

we are so pleased to have a few images included in the new spring/summer 2011 issue of wellwed hamptons!

taylor and brett’s wedding images (above) are also featured as one of wellwed magazine’s real weddings online. deservedly so – the wedding was stunning and the images are beautiful! check it out here.

adriana and josh’s images (above) were used in a color story for their “woodland” color palette. one of our favorite event designers, clarie bean, used green and white flora to compliment the organic beauty of bedell cellars.

PDN has just released the results of their annual Top Knots contest. This image from David and Vanessa’s wedding snagged a place in the receptions category!

The image, titled “Fin”, was used to end the article. Clever, PDN… very clever!

We’ve won an award in this quarter’s WPJA Photo Competition for a shot from Vanessa Britting and David Krumholtz’s celebrity packed wedding at The Plaza Hotel.

I’m a fan of the WPJA since the way they run their competition puts every Wedding Photojournalist on even footing.  Every member get’s the same limited number of entries so you can’t buy yourself an advantage like many photographers do in other competitions.  You also don’t name your photos or provide any additional information about the backstory.  If the photo doesn’t say it – it doesn’t factor into the judging.   You also can’t photoshop your image – so there’s none of that crazyness.  Get it right in the camera or go home.  Lastly, it is a true worldwide competition with thousands of photographers competing (it’s amazing how many great pj wedding images come from Eastern Europe!) so even a sixth place is pretty cool.  This is our 5th winner in WPJA contests.

and our exposure in the far east continues to grow!  we were featured recently in Cosmo’s wedding guide in China, Cosmopolitan Bride.  Check out our 6 page feature of Tara and Nick’s Southampton wedding.  Hats off again to one of our favorite planners and florists – the wonderful Claire Bean.

Well folks, the totals are in.  Between the funds collected on Halloween and the prints that were subsequently ordered, brian dorsey studios’ second annual tribeca costume collection raised over $1100 for UNICEF.

Thank you to everyone in our Tribeca neighborhood, parents and kids alike, who helped participate in making this year’s efforts so successful.  And a special shout out to Lance Lapin for hosting us in front of his Salon on West Broadway, and to Kim,  Lindsay and Celeste who freely gave of their time to help us pull this off.

Funds raised will be going to help eliminate childhood hunger, thirst, disease and illiteracy around the world.

I’ve got to say, I like that the editor called  us “The must-have experience for the in-crowd!”   That’s not a bad goal…
