brooke and gregg made special arrangements to have us join them at brooke’s parents’ house in Mt. Kisco this week – just in time to catch some of the fall color this year. the property is a photographer’s paradise – with waterfalls, ponds, bridges and trails. they wanted their images to just reflect them being themselves in their environment, doing what they do.

this is what they do. i’d do it too.

See Rocco. See Rocco’s Run. Run Rocco Run. Wait Rocco, stop, come back Rocco? Rocco? Rocco come! Rocco, want a piece of Turkey? Come back, Rocco!

brooke took us down some trails (or perhaps rocco took us down the trails) to this bridge where she and gregg and rocco like to hang.

we’ll be joining them when brooke and gregg get married at the wonderful one and only ocean club on paradise island in the bahamas this winter. i’m really looking forward to working with them there (and perhaps staying an extra day afterward to replenish my vitamin e reserves!)

emily and aasem live in the village and wanted their images to have that “in our hood” look. and while it was getting c..c…c..cold outside, emily was a real sport and kept it from showing.

aasem may not really be a model wannabe, but he loved “working it” for the camera. here’s his best zoolander impression -

and emily joined in for our own little “project runway” show. when it was over, the judges awarded aasem a full fashion spread in elle magazine, a trip to next year’s olympus fashion week and a lifetime supply of tresemee hair product.

we’re really looking forward to working with emily and aasem at their wedding this march at the Ritz-Carlton in Palm Beach, too.

Lori and Frank had their wedding at Cipriani 23rd Street. Between the capable hands of Lisa Traina of Cipriani and the folks at the florist Spitz and Peck you knew that this wedding was going to look great and come off flawlessly.
The ceremony was under a canopy in the main foyer – sweeeeet foyer, huh?

Frank was a happy man. There’s nothing like a really happy groom at the first dance.

I met Kate and James up at the NY Public Library at 42nd street for their session. Kate had wanted to use some classical NY architecture as her backdrop and you can’t get more classical than this place. What we hadn’t planned for was the bomb scare that shut down 5th avenue for a while when we started. It’s always something here.

James was throwing out the kind of crazy ideas I usually have to coax people into. He’s like, “Hey, we could climb up there onto the fountain!” Kate asked, “What about the cops?” And James and I just looked at each other, “Ahhh… they won’t care. They’re busy with the bomb scare.” And voila – here’s the shot. It was quite a trek for them to get up there and I don’t think there are many shots like this one. They are literally on a tiny ledge about 8 feet off the ground in a fountain on the front of the NYPL. Funny thing is, I never even noticed these giant fountains before. Kate’s a great sport.

While Bryant Park was being totally torn up and rebuilt from Fashion Week, we did get to ride the Carousel there.

Carousels really should be required riding for adults at least once a year.

Lauren, Chris and I had decided to head up to the Guggenheim museum to do our engagement session – only to find that it was surrounded still by scaffolding. It seems that this entire city is surrounded by scaffolding right now. Lauren had gone to high school just a few blocks north at Sacred Heart so we thought it would be cool to take some shots at her old alma mater.
Here’s a quick taste of what we did….
The old pre-prom shot – Lauren and Chris gettin’ all romantic at the front door of her former high school…..

Let’s get outta here before the Principal catches us.
Since Lauren grew up in the area we cruised a bit down 5th Avenue to work in some of the places she would hang when she was younger.

Lori and Frank are getting married at Cipriani 23 this weekend so I’m rushing to get images from their engagement session last night up online for them so they can enjoy them before their wedding day.
These two are so nice and so great to hang with. We just cruised around Tribeca for awhile looking for some cool spaces to take some shots (it’s not really hard to find cool spaces in Tribeca). Frank (a real foodie) shared with us stories of all the great restaurants in the area.

Frank and Lori will be spending their wedding night here at the Tribeca grand so it seemed fitting…

You’d never think that the folks at Con Ed could conceive of such cool vents for their Franklin Street Substation.

It was our second wedding in Rhode Island in two weeks and once again, it was awesome. Beautiful weather, a beautiful location, and, well, beautiful people. You may recall Adrien and Sergei from their engagement session that we shot in downtown Manhattan awhile back. We’ve got a shot from that session now gracing our homepage.
For this event, I called on a friend of mine, a great photographer from Rhode Island named Kristin Cioffi to join me. And, with the exception of a little glitch in the beginning of the day (imagine that you decide to get a couple of suites at a very very small luxury hotel on the water to get ready on the day of your wedding and the proprietor tells you that you can’t take pictures there because they are under exclusive contract with Grace Ormonde??) the event was flawless. It all worked out in the end because we simply went over to Blithewold Mansion (where the wedding was taking place) to take pictures. Wonderful people there and a fantastic setting for a wedding. So great to have been invited up there to join Adrien and Sergei for their day…

Loved the individually labled votives at each place setting.
