Recently, I had the privelege of being the Keynote Speaker at Brazil’s 3rd Annual Photo and Imaging Congress in Sao Paolo. It was my wife Celeste’s and my first trip to Brazil and we were fortunate enough to spend some time traveling and getting to know the country and the people. We managed to squeeze in a couple of days in Rio, a little time on the famed beach at Ipanema (EVERYONE there is tall and tan and young and lovely), and left enough time for Caiparinha’s every evening. Rio Rocks!
If you are looking for a destination wedding location that’s really something different, check out the Copacabana Palace Hotel in Rio. As in THE Copacabana. Amazingly majestic. Very cool.
The photographers attending the conference in Sao Paolo were a fantastic group – amazingly warm and welcoming to us all. The Q&A section of the presentation was especially fun…imagine having everything you and the audience said translated into Portuguese and English respectively…. in real time! ….cool.
The best part of the trip? After my presentation, I had about 15 people swarm the stage asking to have their picture taken with me – like I was some sort of celebrity. That’s me… Mr. Celebrity Wedding Photographer from NYC. Really, it was so nice. I guess they really liked my work. Go figure. I personally wouldn’t want to have a picture taken of me with me. But that’s me.
If you’re brushing up on your Portuguese and want to see what I look like after a week of fried cheese dough products, fruit drinks and caiparinhas you can check it out. I’m the guy obviously mislabled “The International Attraction”.
